$395/per boat (5 hours for one or two persons)
You’ll fish from the safety, comfort, and roominess of a Hyde XL Low Profile drift boat, fully outfitted with Orvis rods, reels, and tackle for fishing both streamers and surface flies. Everything you need to fish is included, so you can simply step aboard and enjoy the river.
The boat offers plenty of storage for any personal gear you’d like to bring. We’ll also provide water, snacks, and plenty of hands-on instruction covering casting, fishing tactics, reading the river, and the unique character of this stretch of the Upper Mississippi. We’ll capture photos throughout the trip so you have something to remember the adventure by.
For added convenience, we can pick you up at the local Orvis store or meet you directly at the river. We coordinate all of the shuttle logistics, including transportation to the launch and positioning the boat trailer at our takeout point. When the float is over, getting back to your vehicle—or riding with us back to Orvis—is easy.

Particularly appealing to older anglers or those uncomfortable with wading in fast-moving rivers, a drift boat offers a safe, controlled environment with minimal risk. Unlike wading, which can be challenging and risky, a drift boat allows anglers to fish in rivers or inland lakes while sitting comfortably in padded seats with ample legroom, making it ideal for long hours of fishing without discomfort.
Many drift boats also feature adjustable lean bars or supports, offering additional stability for anglers who prefer to stand briefly for casting or to gain a better angle on the water. Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) are always available too - to ensure a safe experience all around.
